Teachers gather in protest to wage arrears in Tehran, Iran
A group of official teachers who have not received their salary for 7 months held a protest gathering on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, along with co-educators who have not received their salary for 10 months, and contract teachers who have not received their salary for 3 months.
It should be recalled that on February 10th, contractual teachers in Tehran protested against not receiving their four months’ salary. They said they received only one month of their five months salary from the new school year and still did not receive any responses to their other demands.
Contractual teachers with a monthly salary of 800 thousand tomans (216.36 USD) have not received 4 months of their salaries. This has left them with many problems in their everyday life, which has led to an increase in teachers’ protests across Iran.
